Sing It, Sarah!

Spring will be a little late this year
A little late arriving in my lonely world...
....Where is our April?....
...Winter continues cold...
...Spring will be a little slow to start
Spring will be a little late this year ♫

Many artists covered this tune written in 1943 by Frank Loesser. The one I remember best was Sarah Vaughn's 1955 version.

After two agreeable days with temps in the high 70's, we were under a tornado watch Friday evening as the cold front came through.

Doves came to the deck.

A Flicker searched the tree bark.

As well as the ground.

Mama Goose keeps those eggs warm regardless. Bet she's wondering "what the heck?"

Speaking of birds, Friday Bud looked down to the pond and said, "What is that?" At first I thought it was one of the turkey vultures with its wings spread out to dry. But when I zoomed my camera in on it, we discovered one of the neighbors had put up a new art installation.

Their heron stands in the reeds a few feet above the pond and has fooled us many times.

The postman delivered my favorite teas Friday....

Just in time for the season's first Jasmine iced tea.
Now, if it will just warm back up.
Wait, it doesn't matter, hot Earl Grey will do just fine.
