"If It Rains On Easter Sunday"

One of the old sayings I heard as a youngster was: "If it rains on Easter Sunday, it will rain the next seven Sundays in a row." This year, you could exchange the word 'snow' for 'rain'. Yes, we had snow again yesterday. This is getting quite vexing. Today is another one of cold, damp, gloom. Iowans are a stalwart bunch, but we're all ready for winter to be done. Even the two camouflaged bunnies are wondering, "where is spring"?
Wishing a change in weather won't make it happen. Perhaps a change in attitude? It could be much worse. Like it was 45 years ago today. Remember the blizzard of '73?

Place To Be
  By Robert Creeley

Days the weather sits
in the endless sky,
the clouds drifting by.

The winter's snow,
summer's heat,
same street.

Nothing changes
but the faces, the people,
all the things they do

'spite of heaven and hell
or city hall --
Nothing's wiser than a moment.

No one's chance
is simply changed by wishing,
right or wrong.

What you do is how you get along.
What you did is all it ever means.

I'm going to meditate on those last six lines for awhile.

Nothing's wiser than a moment.
No one's chance
is simply changed by wishing,
right or wrong.

What you do is how you get along.
What you did is all it ever means.
