Eighty years ago today, my Mom and Dad were joined in Holy Matrimony by Rev. Wm. Overhulser at 2 o'clock in the Methodist Parsonage in Bedford. Dad was 20, Mom was 18 (19 in January). Dad was 6'6", Mom was 5'. An unlikely duo, perhaps, but a pairing I'm most grateful for.
In her diary the next day, Mom wrote: "Louis started shucking corn. Louis's Mother (they were living with Dad's parents) baked bread. They chivaried us tonite. There was about 100 here."
